Palo Santo means "Holy Wood" or "Sacred Wood". It is a sacred, aromatic wood from the Bursera graveolens tree, widely found in Peru and Ecuador. Ours particularly comes from Peru. Authentic Palo Santo is harvested only from branches that have fallen naturally and laid dead for 4-10 years, which concentrates its aromatic oils.
Historically, cultures and healers used and burned it in rituals to cleanse negative energy, promote relaxation, and bring good fortune. Produces a sweet, resinous, citrusy, and minty scent when lit, often described as uplifting and calming.
It is used worldwide today for meditation, aromatherapy, and grounding due to its believed spiritual and therapeutic properties.
